Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about availability, records, pickup, and what to expect when buying cattle, goats, or sheep from a small‑batch farm.
What do you raise at Aslam & Makkah?
We raise cattle, goats, and sheep in small batches in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Availability varies by season, so the best way to know what’s current is to send a quick request.
Do you ship animals?
Most buyers arrange on‑farm pickup. If you’re using a hauler, we can coordinate a pickup window and loading plan, but shipping availability and requirements depend on your destination and transport provider.
Can you guarantee temperament, production, or breeding outcomes?
No. Livestock outcomes depend on genetics, environment, nutrition, handling, and management. We share our observations and notes so you can make an informed decision.
Can I visit the farm before buying?
Sometimes, by appointment. We keep visits structured for biosecurity and herd routine. Many buyers start with a call and photos/video where available.
Do you have a waitlist?
Yes, for some seasons and programs. If you’re planning ahead, tell us your target month and flexibility and we’ll let you know what’s realistic.
How does pricing work?
Pricing depends on the animal/group, season, and documentation available. We provide straightforward quotes and explain what’s included. No aggressive upsells or surprise add‑ons.
Do you sell to first‑time livestock owners?
Yes — as long as your setup is realistic. We’ll ask a few fit questions (fencing, shelter, water, predators) to help avoid mismatches.
Do you sell single goats or a single sheep?
Sometimes, but goats and sheep are herd/flock animals and usually do best with companions. Tell us your situation and we’ll advise what’s best for the animal.
What records do you provide?
We share the notes and records we maintain, which may include age estimates, care notes, and handling observations. Official requirements vary by destination; consult your veterinarian for your program.
Do you offer papered pedigrees?
We do not claim pedigrees unless we can document them. If papers are important to you, tell us early so we can discuss what’s realistic.
What should I prepare before pickup day?
A clean, dry trailer; a low‑stress transition pen; clean water; and appropriate minerals/feed for your veterinarian’s recommendations. We’ll share a short checklist as part of the process.
How quickly do you respond?
We typically reply within 1–2 business days. If you need something sooner, call us at (208) 709‑3517.
Where are you located?
3095 Old Castle Ln, Idaho Falls, ID 83404, USA. Visits and pickups are by appointment.
